Our independent operating entities (“the Facilities”) are fully focused on the seriousness of COVID-19, and share the great concerns of the residents and their families, our caregivers, and the local communities they serve. Each Facility is carefully following the recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to help reduce the potential spread of this virus, and is keeping current on any updates or revised recommendations made by the CDC. The Facilities are also adhering to the Guidance being transmitted from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services on this situation, and the expectations associated with that Guidance. The leadership at each Facility is fully dedicated to doing all they can to minimize the impact of this pandemic in their buildings and communities. The COVID-19 environment changes daily, and the Facilities are both nimble and poised to respond as these changes occur.
The goal of each Facility is infection prevention and control, and delivering quality care to the residents whom they have the privilege to serve. The local leaders and caregivers are ever aware of the trust that has been given to them, and are embracing the opportunity to keep their residents and team members safe.
We express gratitude to all who have offered support to the thousands of “heroes without capes” – those individuals who are working tirelessly every day to provide outstanding care to each resident they serve, while navigating the unique challenges associated with the COVID-19 crisis. To quote Vice-President Mike Pence: “The skilled nursing industry is better referred to as a ‘ministry.’ On behalf of a grateful nation, we thank all the men and women for their dedicated service.”
